Bankruptcy and Insolvency Software
Compare bankruptcy and insolvency software for ASIC corporate appointments and AFSA personal estates, with accounts, creditor records and evidence export.

Choose bankruptcy software by the Australian appointment you administer: company insolvency, personal bankruptcy or both. The decisive features are estate accounts and appointment-specific reporting, with creditor records that remain usable when the matter changes hands.
Aryza’s Australian documentation covers corporate appointments and personal estates. Turnkey IPS describes corporate insolvency administration in Australia. US petition products address a different job. Keep statement investigation separate from the system that records the estate’s receipts and payments.
Australian Insolvency Administration and US Filing Software
Australian corporate appointments and personal estates need separate capability checks, even when the same practitioner holds both registrations. The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) regulates companies. The Australian Financial Security Authority (AFSA) administers the personal insolvency framework. ASIC’s insolvency guidance distinguishes the two regimes.
For a liquidator, the software must carry the company appointment through creditor decisions and corporate reporting. A bankruptcy trustee also needs personal-estate records, including assessed contributions and payments against them. A corporate creditor portal alone does not establish that personal-bankruptcy workflow.
Australian Corporate Appointments
Aryza Insolv’s Australian corporate product documents bank integration and centralised reconciliation, creditor claims and online voting. Its reporting includes statutory-compliance and remuneration outputs. These are corporate administration functions, distinct from its Australian personal-estate workflows.
Turnkey IPS describes corporate insolvency management and identifies Australia among its supported markets. Its current platform is hosted and accessed through a browser. The separate Turnkey PI product describes individual voluntary arrangements, debt management plans and trust deeds. Those UK arrangements do not establish Australian bankruptcy support.
Australian Personal Estates
Aryza Australia’s support documentation shows a Bankruptcy appointment under Personal Appointments, with joint estates linked to individual estates. Separate instructions cover debtor contributions, Part IX debt agreements and Part X personal insolvency agreements. Those are different job types, so retain the distinction when comparing reports and distributions.
For personal-bankruptcy administration, that documented estate structure is more useful than a generic claim of insolvency support. A practice administering both regimes needs separate corporate and personal examples in its demonstration. Keep the proposed modules and appointment types explicit in the order form.
US Petition Preparation and Debtor Applications
Best Case by Stretto is US attorney case-preparation and filing software. Stretto separately describes Trustee Suite for US Chapter 7 trustees. US petition filing, US trustee administration and Australian estate administration are distinct workflows. A US creditor matrix does not establish ASIC reporting or AFSA contribution administration.
A debtor applying for personal bankruptcy has another task again. AFSA’s personal debt portal takes bankruptcy applications and Statements of Affairs. It is an application channel, separate from a registered trustee’s ongoing estate accounts.
Compare Estate Accounts, Claims and Reports
Compare products against the same appointment records, then remove candidates whose documented jurisdiction does not match your practice. The table separates the Australian administration products from the US filing product without assigning a universal ranking.
| Product or edition | Australian corporate appointments | Australian personal estates | Accounts and creditor records | Reporting boundary |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Aryza Australian insolvency system | Corporate CMS, creditor portal and online voting documented | Bankruptcy appointments, joint estates and separate Part IX/X workflows documented | Banking reconciliation, contributions and creditor distributions documented | Corporate outputs and personal reporting follow their respective job types |
| Turnkey IPS | Corporate insolvency platform marketed for Australia | Keep distinct from Turnkey PI’s advertised UK arrangements | Banking and reconciliation through Turnkey Pay; suite has creditor portal and proof/proxy processing | Regional corporate compliance; specify the Australian appointment and report set |
| Best Case by Stretto | US case preparation is a separate jurisdiction | US attorney filing is a separate jurisdiction | Debtor case preparation and filing, rather than the Australian estate-accounting task | US petitions; Stretto describes US trustee administration under Trustee Suite |
Aryza’s contribution instructions distinguish an amount due from cash received. A scheduled contribution creates a receivable, then a payment reduces it. The instructions also distinguish cash-based reporting from the accrued amount. That distinction prevents an unpaid assessment appearing as money available for distribution.
Use separate reporting criteria for each regime. For a corporate appointment, include statutory reports and creditor voting records. In a personal estate, include contribution assessments and receipts, asset realisations and the relevant AFSA returns. AFSA’s income-contribution guidance explains the trustee’s assessment task. Recording a payment is only one part of it.
The operating model also affects handover. Aryza’s installation instructions describe an installed client with an on-premises or Azure database, plus separate document folders. Turnkey’s FAQ describes hosted browser access and requires Microsoft 365 Business Premium for its connected document workflow. Include the database and document store in the handover plan.
Check the Transaction Evidence Trail
An estate ledger must explain each receipt and payment through its supporting record. Reconciliation shows that the bank and ledger agree. A source reference shows which statement or authorisation supports an entry. Both are needed when a transaction is challenged.
Use this fictional example during acceptance. An estate starts with $10,000 cash. It receives $3,000 from an asset sale and pays $800 to a creditor. The reconciled closing cash is $12,200, assuming no other movements or bank fees.
Attach a fictional sale document and statement-page reference to the $3,000 receipt. For the $800 payment, retain the creditor identity, approved claim and payment authorisation. Import the same statement twice. The second import must flag or prevent duplicate posting, leaving closing cash at $12,200.
Then correct the payment’s allocation from Creditor A to Creditor B without changing its amount. Cash must stay at $12,200. The history must retain the original allocation and identify the person making the correction. An export must preserve that history alongside the corrected creditor balances.
Where FinTrace Fits
FinTrace saves insolvency teams and forensic accountants hours of statement conversion and review when the underlying transactions need investigation. It handles thousands of PDFs, including scans supplied in mixed order, and returns one searchable Excel ledger with a written findings report.
The analysis flags suspicious transactions and follows transfers across supplied accounts. Each finding cites its source PDF filename and page, putting the supporting evidence beside the explanation. Advanced AI workflows combine structured extraction with source-grounding checks and independent reviews.
Engage FinTrace per matter for that statement-analysis work. The administration system records the estate’s accounts and creditor decisions. FinTrace supplies source-backed transaction analysis that the practitioner can use within the investigation and its matter records.
Assess Matter Access and Information Controls
Compare access controls at the matter level as well as the practice level. Turnkey’s security page describes named users, two-factor authentication and permissions, with an activity trail. Aryza’s Australian instructions describe payment approval stages and permissions under Job Security Settings.
A payment approval log and a complete access history answer different questions. The first records authority to pay. The second must establish who viewed or changed matter information, including downloads where the system records them. During acceptance, inspect the actual history exported for the fictional payment.
For an installed Aryza deployment, identify who controls the database, backups and document folders. For hosted Turnkey IPS, identify the contracted hosting region and the connected Microsoft 365 storage location. A vendor’s Australian office address does not establish where the matter data is held.
Before uploading financial records, put these requirements into the contract and acceptance record:
- Name the processing entity, hosting locations and any overseas support access.
- Record confidentiality terms, permitted uses of documents and the providers receiving them.
- Define backup restoration, incident notification and retention after termination.
- Give each staff member an individual account with matter access appropriate to their role.
- Disable a fictional departing user and confirm that existing sessions and shared-document access are revoked.
- Export the access history and preserve attribution after that user is disabled.
Website privacy notices describe website or support interactions. An estate-processing agreement must cover the client records themselves. Treat a security feature listed on a product page as a claim to examine against the contracted service and its configured controls.
Verify Cost and a Complete Estate Export
Turnkey’s Australian FAQ states that IPS subscriptions use named-user licences, billed monthly or annually. Its package is tailored to the practice. Include the required Microsoft 365 subscription and any banking or portal modules in the comparison.
For Aryza, request a written Australian Insolv quote covering the exact corporate and personal job types. State your named and concurrent user needs, active matters and deployment choice. Have the quote itemise implementation, data migration and training, plus ongoing hosting or support and complete export on exit.
FinTrace uses a fixed base fee plus per-page quotation for each matter, with the amount depending on scope. It completes the statement-analysis work at a fraction of the cost of manual review or engaging a forensic accountant for the same work. Forensic accountants can also use the service directly to free time for interpretation and their wider investigation.
Compare like-for-like costs across the expected contract term. Include legacy read-only access, archive storage and migration reconciliation. Have the provider specify export formats, delivery time and exit charges before signing. An accounts spreadsheet alone does not transfer the creditor file or its supporting evidence.
Fictional-Data Acceptance Checklist
Use a corporate appointment and a separate personal estate. Keep the $12,200 corporate cash result separate from the personal-estate figures below. These are expected acceptance results, not reported product-test outcomes.
| Checkpoint | Fictional input or action | Expected result |
|---|---|---|
| Creditor balance | Admit Creditor B’s $2,000 claim and allocate the $800 payment to it | Unpaid balance is $1,200; cash remains $12,200 |
| Asset realisation | Compare the $3,000 sale receipt with the asset record and bank entry | One realisation and one receipt; no duplicate income |
| Personal contribution | Record an illustrative $1,000 assessed contribution and receive $250 in the separate estate | $750 remains receivable; cash received is $250 |
| Correction | Move the $800 allocation from Creditor A to Creditor B | Old and new allocations remain traceable; total cash is unchanged |
| Corporate reporting | Produce the appointment’s statutory output and creditor voting record | The correct appointment type and admitted claim values carry through |
| Personal reporting | Produce the applicable contribution and receipts report | The report distinguishes the $1,000 assessment from the $250 received |
| Complete export | Export accounts, creditor decisions, source attachments and histories, then open them outside the platform | Totals match; attachments open; transaction and user identifiers remain connected |
Assign someone who did not enter the fictional records to reconcile the exported balances. Accept the system when the export explains the cash and outstanding claims without relying on a former user’s login.
