Timezone Converter

Convert evidence or meeting timestamps between time zones, resolve clock changes and export both times.

Enter your timestamps

One YYYY-MM-DD HH:mm[:ss] per line. Keep recorded Z or +HH:mm offsets.

A recorded offset takes priority over this choice.

Convert an Evidence Timestamp

The timezone converter keeps the original timestamp alongside the named source zone, its UTC offset and the converted time. The destination changes how the instant is displayed.

In the default example, 2026-01-15 at 12:00 in Australia/Adelaide has offset +10:30. Subtracting ten hours and thirty minutes gives 01:30 UTC on the same day.

An offset such as +10:00 gives a difference from UTC for that record. A named zone also carries historical clock-change rules. The offset alone cannot identify which location’s rules apply.

Choose the source zone from the record’s context. If the record includes an explicit offset, enter it with the timestamp. The converter rejects an offset that disagrees with the named zone.

Check Daylight-Saving Boundaries

A repeated local hour can describe two different instants. In Australia/Sydney, 2026-04-05 at 02:30 occurs with offsets +11:00 and +10:00.

Those possibilities are 2026-04-04 at 15:30 UTC and 16:30 UTC. The tool lists both and leaves the conversion unresolved until you select an interpretation or supply an offset.

Australia/Sydney skips 02:30 on 2026-10-04 when the clock advances. The converter rejects that local time and preserves the entered string. It never moves the record into the next valid hour.

The bundled rules cover 1970 through 2100 using IANA’s time-zone database, version 2026e. Future conversions follow that version’s rules. Government changes require a new rule bundle.

Export a Timestamp Schedule

Download a CSV containing every original string and its selected interpretation. Each row records both zones, both offsets and the UTC instant where conversion succeeds.

Invalid and unresolved entries retain their status with empty converted fields. Blank lines remain numbered rows. CSV cells beginning with spreadsheet formula characters receive a protective apostrophe.

Select two row numbers to calculate signed elapsed seconds from the first instant to the second. A clock change can make elapsed time differ from the visible local-time difference.

Conversion aligns time references without authenticating the underlying evidence. Keep source documents and their context when arranging the converted records with the evidence chronology generator.

Convert a Meeting or Message Time

Use the converted local time to schedule a meeting. Copy the Discord timestamp string to display that same instant in a message, using your selected display style.

Discord timestamps contain Unix seconds and a display-style letter. Changing the style changes the presentation while preserving the instant. The tool creates the string in your browser without connecting to Discord.

A message display format does not verify its sender or the underlying event time. Preserve the original record and its time-zone context when a message forms part of an investigation.
