Margins are percentages of each original visible page.

Choose the Visible Page Area

This PDF crop tool changes the page’s displayed area by setting its crop box. It preserves the underlying page content.

Choose a local PDF, then select a preview page. Draw a rectangle on the original preview or enter each margin as a percentage of the displayed page.

The lower preview shows the proposed visible area at the same scale. A 5% margin on every edge leaves 90% of the page width and height visible.

Margins follow the page as displayed, including quarter-turn rotations. The tool starts from the intersection of each original crop box and media box.

Apply and Export the Crop

Apply a crop to the preview page, selected pages or every page. Selected pages accept numbers and forward ranges, such as 1,3-5.

Repeated crops use the same percentages on each page. A mixed-size bundle therefore retains different physical margins. Inspect each affected page before exporting.

Undo restores up to 50 previous crop operations. Reset all crops restores every original page area. The output keeps all pages in their original order, including pages without a crop.

Create the cropped copy to generate a separate download. The tool reopens the generated PDF, checks its page count and displays its exported crop at matching zoom.

Open the downloaded working copy in another PDF reader and compare every page with the original. Keep the uncropped original in the case file.

Files are limited to 20 MiB and 100 pages. Encrypted or damaged PDFs are unsupported. Saving a modified PDF can invalidate its digital signatures.

Check What Cropping Leaves Behind

Text and images outside the crop box can remain in the PDF. A different crop setting or extraction tool can reveal that content.

Correct use: trim blank edges to make a working bundle easier to view. Incorrect use: crop out account details and assume they are removed.

For content removal, use the PDF redaction tool and review its output. Cropping also preserves document properties and other embedded content.

The PDF tools directory has other local document workflows. Preserve the uncropped original before preparing a copy for disclosure.
