Draw and Add Notes to a Working Copy
Choose a local PDF, select a page and add review marks. Use a highlight for a transaction row, a rectangle around a detail or freehand drawing to connect items. A note places its text beside the selected point.
Drag on the preview to draw. For keyboard placement, enter corners as percentages from the displayed page’s top left and press Add annotation. A note uses the first corner. Freehand keyboard placement draws a straight stroke between the corners.
The preview follows the PDF’s existing page rotation and crop. Each mark keeps that page number and its displayed position, so the export maps it back to the same source page. Page numbers count from the first PDF page, which can differ from printed page labels.
For example, corners at 10%, 10% and 50%, 20% cover 40% of the displayed width and 10% of its height. Undo removes the most recent mark across the document. Individual marks can also be removed from the list.
Export and Review the Annotations
Create the annotated copy, then download both the PDF and its annotation record. The record identifies the original and output filenames with their SHA-256 fingerprints. Each mark retains its page, colour and note text.
Marks are flattened visual overlays in the exported PDF. They remain visible when reopened, but are not editable comment objects. Existing source text remains beneath them. Highlights are review annotations and cannot securely remove sensitive content.
Use the PDF redaction tool when you need to remove content from a separate copy. A review mark does not correct transaction text or establish that a flagged payment is improper.
Reopen the downloaded PDF in your usual reader and compare every marked page with the original. Check rotated pages and scans at a readable zoom, including note text near an edge.
Keep Original Evidence Separate
Keep the original PDF under its existing evidence filename. Give the annotated copy a distinct name, such as statement-bundle-review.pdf, and store its annotation record with it. The fingerprint identifies the exact input bytes used, even if a filename later changes.
Processing stays in this browser tab. Document bytes, filenames and note text are not sent to analytics or an upload service. Clear document removes the working PDF, marks and download links from the tab. Downloads already saved on your device remain there.
This tool accepts unprotected PDFs up to 20 MiB and 40 pages, with at most 400 annotations. Notes accept up to 200 characters. Oversized pages, damaged files and encrypted PDFs are refused. Copying a signed PDF changes its bytes and can invalidate its signatures, so retain the signed original.
